שים לב להערות של @EnsilZah :ARK הודיעו כי בכוונתם לפתוח קרן נוספת, ARKX, שתתמקד בטכנולוגיות הרלוונטיות לחקר החלל:
"..That offering “seeks to provide exposure to companies involved in space-related businesses like reusable rockets, satellites, drones, and other orbital and sub-orbital aircrafts. These innovations should transform logistics, observation, agriculture, telecom, drones, and may even put humans on Mars,” according to the issuer....."
יהיה מעניין לשמוע מחשבות של חברי הפורום אודות הקרן החדשה, ואם כן אז באיזה שלב ?
Personally, the only space companies I'd like to own are SpaceX and Planet Labs and they're not likely to be traded in an ETF because of their private nature, unless Elon forms that holding company for all the ones he founded and in the darkness binds them.
Maybe Blue Origin if they ever decide to get off their turtle asses.
I remember watching the SpaceShipOne launch live in 2004 for its X-Prize winning flight, thinking 'this is the start of a new space race' and it was, but Scaled Composits and later Virgin Galactic took no part in it, all they managed to do in the time it took SpaceX to launch over 100 rockets was kill a guy for the promise of providing a joy ride to rich people.
And Virgin Orbit doesn't seem very promising either, just an overly convoluted way to launch smallsats into weird orbits.
ULA isn't even thinking about making their new rocket reusable at this point, just trying to be price competitive with SpaceX from 5 years ago.
All the communication satellite operators like Iridium, SES, Eutelsat, etc, are going to become obsolete after Starlink is fully deployed.
Smaller companies like Rocket Lab might get some smallsat scraps that SpaceX won't pickup, though they are offering cheap rideshare services now if you don't care too much about your orbit.
Bigelow might be interesting if their CEO doesn't run the company into the ground driving off his employees while going on alien sighting expeditions.
Planetary Resources turned into some sort of blockchain company or something.
And the big military contractors will continue fleecing the government for money like they always do without doing anything particularly creative.
So I can't think of who I'd like to own in a space-themed ETF.
